CARE QUALITY COMMISSION
As from 1 April 2013 The Village Surgery, in line with all GP practices in the UK, was required to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC will undertake routine inspections to ensure that the surgery is providing patients with safe, efficient, compassionate and high quality care that people who use health and social care services have a right to expect.
They set standards of quality and safety and they monitor and inspect these services regularly to ensure they continue to meet the standards outlined by the CQC. The results of such inspections can be found on their website.
As part of this process, the inspectors will want to speak to patients about their experience and your co-operation with this would be appreciated. We will, of course, inform all patients who are booked for an appointment on the day of an inspection that an inspector may wish to interview them.
